The Marblehead Room contains a local history collection including local maps, resident books, annual reports, biographies and local history books.
We collect the work of authors who either live or have worked in the Town of Marblehead. Find a list of titles in our catalog.
As of September 2022, the Marblehead Room collection will be stored in the Archives and Special Collections at the Frederick E. Berry Library at Salem State University in Salem, MA. The collection will remain there for the duration of the library renovation, and will not be accessible. Select materials such as Marblehead High School yearbooks and books focusing on local history are available at Abbot Public Library’s interim space.
When the library reopens, the Marblehead Room will be available for reservations. For more information on reserving a Meeting Room, click here.
We also maintain the following collections:
- The Samuel Chamberlain collection (local photographer from the early 1900s.)
- The Eissner Art collection with over 450 volumes
- Large Print
