Find Your Voice Teen Summer Reading Selections

Find Your Voice through stories this summer with selections chosen by Teen Librarian Bianca Hezekiah who noted that she “wanted to pick a range of titles that focused on advocacy, whether about supporting others or standing up for yourself. It can be tough to speak up and speak out about things that are important to us, so hopefully these books will help inspire and encourage teens to feel more confident when faced with difficult conversations.”

 

Allies: Real Talk About Showing Up, Screwing Up, And Trying Again, by Shakirah Bourne

Dumplin’, by Julie Murphy

Giantess: the Story of the Girl who Traveled the World in Search of Freedom, by Jean-Christophe Deveney

The First Thing About You, by Chaz Hayden

The Prince and the Dressmaker, by Jen Wang

 

Between June 10 and August 18, teens are invited to stop by the Teen Room to make a pledge to read three books over the summer. 

 

Books on the Marblehead Schools Summer Reading lists will be available for check out at the library in late June.
