On Thursday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m., author and biochemist Robert Keefer will share a presentation that explains how the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Johns Hopkins University scientists learned that Alzheimer’s and hearing loss are linked in astonishing ways. It also explains how two short-sighted Medicare policies regarding hearing loss and hearing aids are costing our healthcare system hundreds of billions of dollars every year. 

Robert Keefer has worked in the U.S. and German hearing industry for over 15 years. He earned a doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska Medical School and has worked for over 30 years in the international medical device, pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries, acquiring FDA product clearances and approvals, marketing and business development. He is also the author of a new book entitled “The Alzheimer’s/Hearing Aid Paradox: In Search of Sanity.”
