Poetry Salon with Claire Keyes on Moira Linehan
To attend via Zoom, please register in advance for this meeting here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
On Thursday, Sept. 21 the Poetry Salon at Abbot Public Library in Marblehead will open its fall series on local poets with the poems of Moira Linehan. A graduate of Boston College and the Vermont College MFA program, Linehan lived her adult life in the greater Boston area. Her poems have been noted for their “vivid images and meditative lyricism.” Her latest book, her fourth, bears the intriguing title, “& Company,” Linehan’s shorthand for the role her French grandmother played in the formation of a family clothing company. In other works, as Barbara Crooker writes, “Moira Linehan brings us to Ireland, the Pacific Northwest, her home in Massachusetts, where her poems mark X. I am here.”
Please join Claire Keyes, Professor Emerita at Salem State University, on Sept. 21 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Abbot Public Library’s temporary home on Brook Road or online via Zoom, for a discussion of Linehan’s poems.
Poetry packets are available at the library or online here: Moira Linehan Poetry Packets.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of Abbot Public Library.
