Kevin Carey will be reading from his new novel, “Junior Miles and the Junkman,” and talking about how the novel came to be. His novel is a story about personal loss, friendship, and hope. After reading from his book, he will lead a writing workshop centered around the question, “where do our stories come from?” All ages from fourth grade up are invited to this event.
Kevin Carey is the Coordinator of Creative Writing at Salem State University. He has published three books of poetry and one of fiction. Carey has also produced work as a playwright and a filmmaker. He co-directed and co-produced two documentaries, co-authored a screenplay, and wrote a stage play that premiered in 2018. He also published a crime novel. His latest novel, “Junior Miles and the Junkman,” is scheduled to be released this month.
