June 23 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Join us for Food Explorers, the Abbot Library’s newest afterschool STEM program for kids! Follow your food as it goes from seed to compost and farm to table, and everything in between. Each session will include stories and activities, as well as a take-home craft or simple science experiment to help us explore and connect to the food we eat.
This month we are celebrating Pollinator Week with a bee-, butterfly-, and bird-themed story time. Get ready to learn all about why those pollinators you see flying around your garden are so important to the food we eat, and how we can help protect these amazing creatures!
This monthly program is best suited for children in kindergarten through second grade. Pre-registration is required as space is limited — to register, please call the Children’s Room at 781-631-1481, Ext. 217 or 237.
This program is in-person and will be held outdoors in the library’s Secret Garden. We will be adhering to current social distancing guidelines and COVID-19 safety protocols. Please dress for the weather, and note that masks are required for all participants and caregivers.
