
Children’s Summer Reading Kickoff Day

11:00 am in the Meeting Room: Author (Alec Carvlin) Author Reading, Presentation, and Craft on his book, How to Bake a Universe
Calling all cosmic chefs! Alec Carvlin will be reading his debut picture book, How to Bake a Universe, at the Abbot Public Library. Kids in grades K-3 will love decorating their own cosmic sunglasses, hearing the book read aloud by the author, and asking questions about the fun and funky science at the end.
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm in Children’s Room: Craft Table
There will be simple crafts for all ages featuring a shark, octopus, and sailing boat paper craft. Caregivers should remain in the room for children under seven.
2:00 pm in the Children’s Room: Scavenger Game
Find certain books on our shelves related to ocean stories and ocean facts, plus decorative items in the room. Check off the scavenger hunt form and receive a family voucher for free admission to the U.S.S. Constitution in Boston!
